Hello beauty! I hope your week is going well! The weekend is almost in sight, so keep on trudging though my friend!
I recently went hiking in Dundas Valley Conservation Area and I loved it! There’s such a beautiful trail which is perfect for beginners! It doesn’t seem as though many people are aware of this trail since Alexei and I were hiking mostly by ourselves (there were one or two people walking or jogging by) so we relished in the quiet escape into nature. I highly recommend this hike for anyone who’s a nature lover and just want to enjoy the peace and quiet of the natural surroundings. It was so heartwarming to see the squirrels in their true element!
For the hike, I wore my favourite pair of tights from Lululemon, which is no longer in stock but I’ve linked a similar item here. I also wore this super comfortable Nike Swoosh Women’s Sports Bra which I LOVE! Sometimes sports bras can fit too snug because of the material but this one fit like a gem! I love the bright colour as well- the peach really pops, don’t you think?!
For the tank top, this Nike Breathe Miler was chosen as the tank material is so unbelievably light and breathable- perfect for a morning run! Of course another reason for choosing this tank is that the peach colour matches the sports bra which is absolutely love!
I decided to rock my favourite hip pack (or fanny pack as we used to call it!) from Herschel and am linking a very similar item here. This pack got me through my South America trip where I hiked high above the Iguazu waterfalls in Argentina, through the sand dunes in Huacachina and in Machu Picchu, Peru. Needless to say I have somewhat of an attachment to this pack, since it reliably held my travel documents, cellphone and other essential items! I was also warned about people pick pocketing backpacks when hiking in South America, so I made the wise choice to keep all important items on my person and in front of me for safekeeping- best choice that I made as I was able to hike worry-free and have peace of mind.
The kicks that I wore are my favourite pair of Nike Free Run Flyknit Grey Sneakers which are so versatile for hiking and light running. The shoes fit like a glove and conform easily to my feet. They’re also super stylish yet practical, which is important to me even while enjoying an outdoor activity! Always step out stylish my friend- no matter where you’re headed! I’ve linked a similar pair here!
That’s all for today my dear, I really hope you enjoyed today’s post and that it helps you with choosing some fashionable yet comfortable wear for outdoor activities! Let me know in the comments below what’s your go-to hiking outfit! Would love some other ideas! Bye for now love! xoxo
How’s your Tuesday treating you? I find that Tuesday’s aren’t as dreadful as Monday’s, I guess because we’re already going through the motion (and by that I mean, the work week), but I still count down the days until the weekend!
Today’s post features the weekend outfit which I wore to the Ancaster Ribfest– mmm, love me some good pork and beef ribs! What about you? Have you ever been to ribfest? What’s your favourite food at the festival? I love the corn on the cob and blooming onions! 🥰
Alexei and I decided to try the Kentucky Smokehouse vendor and boy was the sauce darn good! (That’s about as country as I can speak! haha).
Let’s get into the outfit, shall we? I’m wearing this super comfortable high rise paperbag shorts with adjustable drawstrings (xs), and the style is so flattering for any body type! This item gives for a relaxed fit with a wide leg and is 90% Rayon material. The best feature about these shorts- they come with functional pockets on each side which add for such an easy casual look!
I’ve also linked a very similar item called the Riley Belted Short– it’s also a paperbag style and includes a removable belt and pockets (see, super similar!) so you can check out this item as well!
Both items can be styled with a crop top or even tucked into the shorts for a more fitted, yet relaxed feel. I find that usually with these wide leg or loose fitting pants, a fitted top pairs best otherwise it can look as though you’re drowning in your outfit! :p
I hope you enjoy this post and as always, feel free to leave a comment below! I’m curious to know what unique food festivals there are in your area and which is your favourite! 🙂
Happy Friday loves! I am beyond elated for the Toronto Raptors first NBA Championship win! 🏆 The city is buzzing and the people are jubilant! The atmosphere is electrifying and I truly couldn’t be more proud for our team- they deserve this win! Today’s post is inspired by the Raptors colours and I had so much fun with this look!
The Hollister low rise shorts have so much stretch and the fit is super comfortable! I’ve added a similar pair of Hollister shorts as my own are no longer in stock- it’s only CAD$23.00, so get it while it lasts! This Garage red tank is the perfect basic tank- it’s casual with a comfort element yet stylish all at once! It’s only CAD$16.95 and definitely worth the buy! ♥️ I’ve decided to pair this kit with these trendy Treanna white flats which are only CAD$49.99! The white pair is no longer in stock but I’ve linked the item which is also available in both nude and black colours. I decided to accessorize this look with this beautiful handwoven round bag! It’ complements these colours perfectly and is in for the 2019 season! It’s 42% off now so get this steal of a deal while you can! Finally, I completed this overall look with my favourite Pandora Rose jewelry- this rose gold bracelet fits perfectly, but be mindful to buy a slightly larger size as the charms takes up space which tightens the band. I especially love the locket feature for this popular band- almost bears a symbol of love with the locket element. And lastly, if you’re representing Pandora Rose, it’s best to sport the collection- the Pandora Rose stud earrings are my most worn pair of earrings as it’s so versatile, it can be worn as a casual outfit with hair down, or really shines through with an updo hairstyle! And the final piece to compete the collection- the Pandora Rose ring is so timeless as it features the signature Pandora logo on the beautiful rose coloured metal! That’s it for now folks- I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did creating this Raptors inspired outfit! Take care and have a wonderful, enjoyable and safe weekend! xoxo ~ Lissy
These past few weeks have been super hectic! Life is so crazy right now with holiday party planning to shopping for Christmas gifts to offering my services at my company bake sale- I need a vacation! I think we all tend to have a period where we go non-stop and overcommit to events! Anyhoo, that’s my mini rant. How have you all been? How’s the holiday season treating you so far? I feel like I’ve been MIA and completely disconnected with my blogging world that I’m making the utmost efforts to re-connect with you all again!
Today’s post features one of my favorite sweaters for the season which is a beautiful blush pink V neck sweater with a bow tie at the back! The material is lightweight yet so soft, and the back design is perfect for a sexy date night outfit during this sweater weather season. You can even wear a tank underneath if you want more layers. I decided to pair the outfit with these black ripped jeans and my go to booties and completed the overall look with these beautiful fringe earrings (just make sure that it doesn’t get hooked to your scarf or hat!).
I’m linking similar outfit details below:)
Happy Hump Day everyone!!! Hope you have a fantastic day! xoxo
Hi loves!! Hope your week is going well, we’re almost at the weekend- hang in there! 🙂
I’m sharing a quick post of today’s outfit which follows the theme of this week’s office looks. I’m absolutely loving this black/white houndstooth skirt for the fall season- it’s the perfect length midi-skirt and the colour is neutral for the office. The material allows for some stretch with an elastic fitted band at the top, instead of a zip so it’s super easy to put on with no button/zipper to fumble with!
I paired this skirt with my go to V-neck black long sleeve bodysuit and finished the look with my black Aldo booties and a black belted coat (forgot the name of where I bought it years ago!).
I’m linking the skirt below as it’s my recent purchase, and I’ve linked a similar coat for you all!
I hope you all had a wonderful week and are ready for another week- back to the grind!
As it’s back to work this week, I thought it fitting to share with you some of my favorite fall 2018 work outfits- I’ll be posting some of my newest finds and sharing on Instagram this week (be sure to follow @livinglissy). Today’s look features my absolute favorite combination of black/grey attire. This pencil skirt is my new fall find; it’s fitted and gives for a sophisticated office look (I’m wearing a size 2 for reference). This skirt is perfect for that interview which you’re trying to ace! It’s feminine yet classy, and that’s what I love most about this work outfit.
I paired this skirt with my go to black V-neck bodysuit from M for Mendocino and threw on this super chic grey/black coat from Xara, along with my staple Aldo black booties.

Happy 1st of October! I’m starting this post off with a pat on the back for actually dedicating to post a fashion photo each day last month!! 😤
I finally completed the September in Style Closet Challenge and wanted to thank you all for your support and positivity during this 30 day project! It really means so much that many of you took the time to engage with me and with the project itself and helped me to build my IG profile with some swoon worthy fashion posts! 👚
One of the greatest lessons this project has taught me is the importance of discipline and the power of perseverance. By making such a public announcement on Instagram of my closet challenge project, I forced myself to stick to my commitment.
I began the challenge with a list which acted as my guide in my selection of outfits and daily theme. Then, I determined with which outfit I would associate the chosen theme. This is a very inexpensive and affordable project, as I used many of the clothing items which I already had on hand and used various parings to portray a completely different look each time.
While inexpensive, I chose to purchase some pieces to assist in the seasonal transition from summer to fall with my Fall Haul items 🍁 (check out my IG Live channel for this video and my recent blog post ‘Fall Haul pt 1’!), however, you can do this without paying a single penny- up to you entirely! It’s a very versatile project!
Now, the bulk of the prep was the actual sorting through of clothes and pairing with accessories, shoes, bags, etc. During the weeks of outfit prepping, my bed was entirely covered with clothes and it actually looked like a tornado passed through the room (I have a spare bedroom that I neatly folded all my outfits in anticipation for the weeks ahead- not to worry, I can’t live in total chaos either!)
On the weekends, I would take many of the photos for the upcoming week (a special thanks to my boo- Lex for all his unwavering support and patience as my personal photographer!📷). Due to inclement weather on some days, we would have to shoot the photos inside, but the combination of both indoor and outdoor photos added a unique element to the overall photo compilation 😊 Overall, this project was so enjoyable, as it gave me something to look forward to each and every day, while allowing me to connect and engage more on a personal level with my followers while also growing my following. I would definitely try this again or maybe even use the same list with a twist!
Here is the complete list if you decide to give it a try! If you’ve done a closet challenge in the past, you can share in the comments below- I’d love to see your fashion ideas and inspiration 💛
Enjoy and have a wonderful week friends! xoxo

I’ve been MIA since my last post on my recent travel to T&C, but today, I’m sharing with you some exciting news! I’ve joined the SheIn Affiliate program and wanted to share this classy number that I wore at the office and received so much positive feedback!
As you may be familiar with my recent posts (if you follow me on IG, you’ll know that I decided to take on what I call the September in Style Closet Challenge on Instagram…and for those of you who didn’t know, well, you’re missing out! You can follow me on IG @livinglissy :p)
Anyway, back to today’s look- This beautiful frilled collar striped top is one of my favorite new fall finds! The puffy sleeves which are rouged at the wrist and high collar neck gives that office professional look, and the yellow stripes are perfect for the upcoming fall season (who else is ready for those orange, red and yellow hues??). I paired this top with my black to basic pants- Kate skinny pants from Dynamite Clothing and finished the look with my go to black heels from Call it Spring and black Kate Spade handbag. Trust me- when you wear this number, you’ll be hearing so many compliments as the style itself is very unique and the fit is true to size and most importantly- it’s super affordable at less than $20!! Spring has finally sprung, and I for one am beyond elated! This week’s weather was warmly received as Torontonians were strutting their stuff in shorts and sunglasses, with a clear indication that winter was nothing but a bitter memory, which we endured tortuously, thanks to an extended winter season (snow storms in April?! Mother Nature surely didn’t follow seasonal protocol this time around). This weekend I plan on doing a much needed and long overdue bout of Spring cleaning! I must confess that I frequently experience separation anxiety when faced with the difficult question of whether or not I should part with an article of clothing, which hasn’t been worn in over 3 years, although maybe someday it’ll be perfect if I ever need to paint a room (mind you, I’ve never done such a thing, but one can never be too prepared!). Now, while I do agree with the notion of donating items which hasn’t seen the outside of a closet in over 2 years, I do think that certain items can be revamped with a little touch of creativity (I’ll do another blog on my post-spring cleaning experience and share what I’ve decided to keep, not hoard- after all, vintage is a style!). In the meantime, however, I’d like to spring forward to this new chic outfit that I’ll be rocking this Spring/Summer!
This light colored outfit creates a happy and fresh look that represents Spring fashion! I’m wearing a pair of white Levi’s jeans, paired with a beautiful blue and white striped off the shoulder top from Dynamite, which gives for a relaxed yet comfortable feel. I decided to incorporate a third colour into this outfit with a brown thin belt (Aldo Accessories), brown wedge heels (Call it Spring) a brown chunky handbag from Michael Kors. I wore gold jewellery to finish this look- I’ve always loved infinity pendants, and I absolutely adore minimalist jewellery, so this chain is the perfect combination of both styles! I got it at a Christmas trade show in Toronto (unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the vendor, but I will give credit to the One of a Kind Show which showcases handmade products from talented artists and craftspeople across the nation- so show your support and shop local!) Btw- isn’t the city art absolutely stunning- I’m in love the wall art and the architecture, which screams urban living!
What do you think about this look and what are some of your favorite spring styles this year? Comment below! 🙂
I’ve accumulated so many outfits which I can’t wait to wear for Spring/Summer, and need to find an event just to showcase them! We usually tend to buy an outfit for an event, but I’m changing it up a bit and doing the complete opposite! Does anyone else feel like this, or is it just me. Hmm, do I really have a shopping problem? Food for thought now….
That’s it for now folks! For more spring fashion, be sure to follow me on Instagram @styleguideto 🙂
Another hectic work week gone by and I’m ready for the weekend! Who’s with me?! In today’s post, I’m sharing with you one of my favorite looks for glamming up your work outfit which can be worn from the office to your next dinner date. Being as yesterday was Thirsty Thursdays, I thought it was the perfect time to showcase this look, and might I add that this one will definitely get you compliments! 😉
I’m obsessed with this outfit at the moment! The nude colored bodysuit hugs perfectly to the body (I wore a size Small) and is super comfortable! I wore it with satin tie waist pant with pockets that give for a casual look (size Small)- both pieces are from M Boutique. I wore these trendy three toned heels to complement the color theme (also, it elongates the legs, and who wouldn’t want that?!). I completed this outfit with a black statement necklace trimmed with gold, from Call it Spring and a black handbag (which was given to me as a present from my wonderful boyfriend) from Kate Spade.
Here, I decided to complete the look with a tobacco colored waterfall coat courtesy of Le Chateau.
I’ve received so many compliments on this outfit, so try it and do share your thoughts in the comments below!
