I hope your week is going well so far, don’t worry- we’re halfway there until the weekend!
I wanted to share a quick post on today’s look- black and white polka dots paired with a red accent just gives me a feeling of nostalgia replicating an 80’s retro style, don’t you think? Of course, you can pair with black or white shoes or accessories, but I love the bright red color against the black and white! Add a pop of bold red lipstick and you’re a modern day Marilyn Monroe!
While thisparticular item is no longer in stock, as I bought it a few years ago fromCharlotteRusse, I’ve linkedTONSof similar itemsbelow (many comes in different color variations, but I’ve directly linked black and white prints) all under $USD100for your viewing pleasure!😊
I hope your week is going well! I’m definitely ready for a much needed long weekend- July 1 is a public holiday here as it’s Canada Day! I can’t wait for the holiday festivities! But first, I want to share with you today’s outfit which I call ‘Pretty in Pink’.
I was roaming the city and with today being Wednesday, I decided to adopt the ‘Mean Girls’ rule of wearing pink clothing! This ultra-chic pair of high waist pink and black shorts is perfect for city adventures, as its light and fits the waist perfectly. The shorts are true to size and don’t have much stretch so I suggest sizing up- I’m wearing a small in the pair of shorts. The complete outfit, both shorts and top is from Charlotte Russe, but as the style is no longer in stock, I’ve linked a few similar items below.
The sandals which I’m wearing are my most comfortable and stylish pair of Treanna Black Flats (I also own a pair in White) which are only CA$49.99 and are currently on a special deal where you can buy one, get one 70% off!
Finally, I completed the look with my trendy Nude Lace Tote from Aldo Shoes, but sadly, it is no longer in stock, so I’ve linked a similar item here:
I hope you’re all ready for some R&R this weekend- I know I am!
Today’s post features my new favorite bikini which has ALL the features that I absolutely love- the high waist cut, lace up style, stripe pattern, bright colors- everything! I’m wearing a size small in both top and bottom pieces. The top is a bit too tight because I do have a broad back, but I was worried that the medium would be too big as my cup size is small. However, the small bottom is perfect for that cheeky look! 😉 The brightly multicolored bikini screams ‘Summertime is here!’
I paired the bikini with this beautiful beach blanket which I absolutely adore!! From the pattern, print and colors, this blanket is a must for the summer season! I received several compliments on this one 🙂 I have to be honest, the material is not the best quality- it’s as thin as brown cotton, but the lightweight material makes for easy packing and a light load when you have to consider all the items required for a beach run (towel/s, sunscreen, water, book, etc.).
Of course I had to get on board the straw beach tote train as it’s all the trend for 2019! This uniquely crafted chic piece is exactly what I’ve been looking for all spring, and I finally found it at such an affordable price! The bag itself is not your regular beach bag, it’s great for small items and I’ve used it as more of a beach handbag/accessory to place sunglasses, a book, beach blanket (the lightweight material is perfect for folding into this bag!), sunscreen, wallet and keys. The tote is open and has no zipper/clasp, so do consider this if you decide to buy it. For some people, an open bag is not secure and can be the deciding factor on whether to buy or not, as weather conditions or possibility of theft is always a risk.
Finally, no trip to the beach is complete without a sun hat! I recently bought this floppy hat and I am so pleased with the coverage it provides! The black and white colors are basic which I did consider before buying, as any swimsuit can be paired with it, and I thought the label ‘Vitamin Sea’ is so clever and witty!
As always, I’ve included below the source of all items described, so be sure to check them out!
Hello my loves! I’m sorry for being so MIA but life has been super hectic this year! I spent the first three months of 2019 studying for my Project Management Professional exam and I aced it on the first try! I intend to share a post on all the resources that I used to successfully pass such a comprehensive exam, so look out for it! 😉 Apart from achieving the PMP designation, I recently visited the Caribbean for two weddings and I’m so excited to share the tropical outfits that I wore on the trip! Let’s start with this bright and bold swimsuit- I’ve been loving the high waist bottoms, and this piece is perfect for a sunny day at the beach or pool! I ordered a size Small and it’s only CA$19.00 (US$14.00). I especially love the pop of yellow against this multi-color feather patterned beach blanket, which is only CA$14.00 (US$10.00). Finally, what’s a beach day without beach sandals? Even a beach outing deserves a cute pair of slides and this footwear is PERFECT for a day out, whether on the sand or the streets. The cute decorative bow adds a feminine touch, don’t you think? Scroll down for photos and links to each item! With summer season fast approaching, I’ll be sure to post the perfect attire for every outing! Bye for now dolls! xoxo ~ Lissy Textured Bandeau With High Cut Bikini Set – US$14.00 Ombre Feather Print Round Beach Blanket – US$10.00 Bow Slide – CA$25.95
Happy 1st of October! I’m starting this post off with a pat on the back for actually dedicating to post a fashion photo each day last month!! 😤
I finally completed the September in Style Closet Challenge and wanted to thank you all for your support and positivity during this 30 day project! It really means so much that many of you took the time to engage with me and with the project itself and helped me to build my IG profile with some swoon worthy fashion posts! 👚
One of the greatest lessons this project has taught me is the importance of discipline and the power of perseverance. By making such a public announcement on Instagram of my closet challenge project, I forced myself to stick to my commitment.
I began the challenge with a list which acted as my guide in my selection of outfits and daily theme. Then, I determined with which outfit I would associate the chosen theme. This is a very inexpensive and affordable project, as I used many of the clothing items which I already had on hand and used various parings to portray a completely different look each time.
While inexpensive, I chose to purchase some pieces to assist in the seasonal transition from summer to fall with my Fall Haul items 🍁 (check out my IG Live channel for this video and my recent blog post ‘Fall Haul pt 1’!), however, you can do this without paying a single penny- up to you entirely! It’s a very versatile project!
Now, the bulk of the prep was the actual sorting through of clothes and pairing with accessories, shoes, bags, etc. During the weeks of outfit prepping, my bed was entirely covered with clothes and it actually looked like a tornado passed through the room (I have a spare bedroom that I neatly folded all my outfits in anticipation for the weeks ahead- not to worry, I can’t live in total chaos either!)
On the weekends, I would take many of the photos for the upcoming week (a special thanks to my boo- Lex for all his unwavering support and patience as my personal photographer!📷). Due to inclement weather on some days, we would have to shoot the photos inside, but the combination of both indoor and outdoor photos added a unique element to the overall photo compilation 😊 Overall, this project was so enjoyable, as it gave me something to look forward to each and every day, while allowing me to connect and engage more on a personal level with my followers while also growing my following. I would definitely try this again or maybe even use the same list with a twist!
Here is the complete list if you decide to give it a try! If you’ve done a closet challenge in the past, you can share in the comments below- I’d love to see your fashion ideas and inspiration 💛
Enjoy and have a wonderful week friends! xoxo

Anyway, back to today’s look- This beautiful frilled collar striped top is one of my favorite new fall finds! The puffy sleeves which are rouged at the wrist and high collar neck gives that office professional look, and the yellow stripes are perfect for the upcoming fall season (who else is ready for those orange, red and yellow hues??). I paired this top with my black to basic pants- Kate skinny pants from Dynamite Clothing and finished the look with my go to black heels from Call it Spring and black Kate Spade handbag. Trust me- when you wear this number, you’ll be hearing so many compliments as the style itself is very unique and the fit is true to size and most importantly- it’s super affordable at less than $20!!
