Fashion- "On Wendesdays, we wear pink!" Outfit inspo from the ‘Mean Girls’ movie

Hello friend!

I hope your week is going well! I’m definitely ready for a much needed long weekend- July 1 is a public holiday here as it’s Canada Day! I can’t wait for the holiday festivities! But first, I want to share with you today’s outfit which I call ‘Pretty in Pink’.

I was roaming the city and with today being Wednesday, I decided to adopt the ‘Mean Girls’ rule of wearing pink clothing! This ultra-chic pair of high waist pink and black shorts is perfect for city adventures, as its light and fits the waist perfectly. The shorts are true to size and don’t have much stretch so I suggest sizing up- I’m wearing a small in the pair of shorts. The complete outfit, both shorts and top is from Charlotte Russe, but as the style is no longer in stock, I’ve linked a few similar items below.

SHEINPolka Dot Belted Paperbag Shorts – CA$9.00 (18% off!)

SHEINHigh Waist Button Side Dot Shorts – CA$18.00

LulusSpa-t Treatment Black Polka Dot Shorts – US$32.00 (waitlist)

The sandals which I’m wearing are my most comfortable and stylish pair of Treanna Black Flats (I also own a pair in White) which are only CA$49.99 and are currently on a special deal where you can buy one, get one 70% off!

Finally, I completed the look with my trendy Nude Lace Tote from Aldo Shoes, but sadly, it is no longer in stock, so I’ve linked a similar item here:

I’ve also paired the complete outfit with this light and versatile medium wash denim jacket from Dynamite clothing, which is a summer staple for many of us!

As this outfit is inspiration from Mean Girls movie, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite quotes from the hit movie ‘That’s SO FETCH!’- what’s yours? Comment below!

I hope you try this outfit look and let me know what you think! I love pink for spring and summer season as the color is so bright and fun! Wishing you a wonderful day and rest of week- xoxo

Fashion- Summer is here in this Tropical Chic wear!

Hello beautiful! Hope you’re having the best weekend! Today, I’m sharing a quick post of a dress which I wore to our friends’ wedding. The theme for this beach wedding was ‘Tropical Chic’ and I couldn’t think of a better dress to wear for the event!

The Canary Yellow Colored Gown is my absolute favorite dress for this summer season! I strutted around the venue with such confidence as this bold and fun color turned the heads of many guests. I’m wearing a size Small, and it fit like a glove, yet the chiffon material allowed my to glide elegantly and comfortably. In my opinion, the three best features of this dress include the vibrant color, the halter neck strap design and of course, the leg slit which added a special element to an already gorgeous dress! I can’t wait to wear this gown again because I received so many compliments at the wedding- I even won an unofficial contest (unbeknownst to me) as the BEST DRESSED GIRL! This gown is a show stopper and head turner, so if you’re thinking of impressing the party goers with a dress which has that ‘WOW’ factor- this is it! Shop now while it’s still in stock and currently on sale for 47% off- trust me, you won’t regret it!

For the heels, I kept it simple with this Tayvia Nude Block Heel- and it was so unbelievably comfortable, that I danced all night wearing them and had no blisters the next morning! Super happy with this purchase, and it’s so adorable at only CA$49.99.

When pairing the accessories, I decided to wear this Carrie Clutch Bag to match the nude heels, and it complemented the overall outfit quite nicely. This clutch fit all my essentials such as my cellphone, lipstick to touch up (of course) and keys, so again, another purchase with which I was satisfied!

Last but certainly not least, I completed the overall look with a color contrast to the yellow dress- this pair of Chic Beaded Turquoise Earrings! The earrings are very lightweight and I think that the turquoise color adds a fun accent and pop of color to this vibrant yellow gown creating the perfect combination for a tropical chic wedding- after all, I was awarded the title of ‘Best Dressed’ wasn’t I? 😉

I hope you enjoy this post and if you do buy any of these items, do let me know what you think (I don’t receive a commission from these products, I would really just love your feedback!) If you do buy any of the products mentioned above, do share your post and tag me on Instagram @livinglissy 🙂

Enjoy your weekend friend, finally summertime is here!! xoxo

Life- 🐘 Lion King musical! 🐒 ♬

Hi loves!

Last night I went to the highly anticipated Lion King Musical and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! I am completely amazed and beyond impressed with the costumes, talented performers, special effects and overall production of the show! If you have the opportunity to see this play, I strongly recommend it- and while the cost may seem pricey (I paid CAD $200 per ticket), the first 5 minutes alone were well worth it! The organizers create an immersive experience as performers made their way through the crowd which really increased the audiences’ engagement. I truly admire the performers’ talent, skills and abilities, with the singing, dancing and acting all at the highest quality of theatre. I am already searching for dates for my second show! 🙂

My outfit choice was based on the nude tones of African inspiration. While I did consider wearing my leopard romper, I tend to get cold so easily that I thought to layer up with this beautiful nude mid sleeve top which is usually my staple piece during the fall season, but I usually wear it if going to the movies or theatre (anywhere with AC really!). The top which I’m wearing is no longer in stock, so I’m linking two similar items: Jaymes Top-Nude and this Blush Rib V-neck t-shirt.

I decided to pair this top with a pair of ripped black jeans to give for a casual look and feel, so I wore my favorite pair from Bluenotes (have you shopped at this store?) called the High Rise Emma Jegging. In the past few years have I become an avid mid to low rise pant wearing girl, but since I discovered the feel of my tummy being covered and no love handles with high rise pants, I’m hooked on this style! :p

For the footwear, I kept it simple with my go-to pair of black gum sole Vans, which are so comfortable and give me the best fit for walking around the city!

Of course, I finished the look with my favorite Kate Spade jewelry- this initial pendant gold necklace. The look was casual yet fitting for this play, and I saw several people wearing animal print or African inspired clothing for the event! Truly a spectacular evening!

Have you seen the Lion King musical? What did you think of it? Comment below- I’d love to know your opinion! Bye for now xoxo

Fashion & Travel- Wednesdays are for Waterfalls!

Wednesdays are for Waterfalls!

Hi loves!

Happy mid-week pump- or hump day I should say! 😀

I decided to take the day to re-connect with Mother Nature and visited one of my favourite waterfalls in Milton- Hilton Falls! Some days you just need to take a break from the busy life and go to your happy place- and fortunately, the waterfalls is my happy place 🙂

I’ve linked all visitor information above which includes details such as park fee, hours of operation, activities at the park (such as hiking, lighting a bonfire and cylcling through the trails) and so much more!

Today’s outfit features my most worn MEC outdoor wear. This rain jacket is perfect for those mornings when you want to go outdoors, but the temperature is slightly brisk. When the air is too cool, I whip out my MEC jacket, because not only is the hard shell water resistant, but it acts as a wind breaker, is super lightweight and has an adjustable hood. As I bought this jacket 3 years ago, I’m linking a similar lightweight rain jacket

The backpack featured in my photo is actually called a Daypack by the Black Diamond brand- the lightweight material allows for those essential items you’d like to take on your trip, but without the hassle of carrying a bulky backpack. Daypacks are perfect for long distances while hiking when you need to pack extremely light. The material is water resistant, straps are adjustable and features clips to ensure that the pack is strapped against you. I used this pack every single day while hiking in South America and it is truly one of my favourite backpacks! I’m linking a few similar Daypacks here:

Black Diamond Magnum 16 Daypack – Unisex

Black Diamond Bullet 16 Pack – Unisex

Black Diamond Nitro 26 Daypack – Unisex

Of course, you can’t go hiking without a proper pair of hiking shoes, however, as this trail is considered easy-medium, I wore my Dr. Scholls sneakers. Although not specifically designed for hiking, these sneakers are so versatile and provide such great comfort (trust me- I got zero blisters while walking!) with a considerable amount of grip to prevent any slips! As the pair I’m wearing is no longer in stock, I’m linking a similar item which is just as affordable and comfortable, and it’s sustainable (BONUS!) called the Herzog Sustainable Sneaker

That’s it for now folks- hope you enjoyed today’s post and as always, be sure to subscribe so you stay connected and receive all my latest posts! 🙂

Have a wonderful day and we’ll chat soon! xoxo

Fashion- We The Champs! Toronto Raptors inspired look 🏆🏀

We The Champs!!!

Happy Friday loves! I am beyond elated for the Toronto Raptors first NBA Championship win! 🏆

The city is buzzing and the people are jubilant! The atmosphere is electrifying and I truly couldn’t be more proud for our team- they deserve this win!

Today’s post is inspired by the Raptors colours and I had so much fun with this look!

The Hollister low rise shorts have so much stretch and the fit is super comfortable! I’ve added a similar pair of Hollister shorts as my own are no longer in stock- it’s only CAD$23.00, so get it while it lasts!

This Garage red tank is the perfect basic tank- it’s casual with a comfort element yet stylish all at once! It’s only CAD$16.95 and definitely worth the buy! ♥️

I’ve decided to pair this kit with these trendy Treanna white flats which are only CAD$49.99! The white pair is no longer in stock but I’ve linked the item which is also available in both nude and black colours.

I decided to accessorize this look with this beautiful handwoven round bag! It’ complements these colours perfectly and is in for the 2019 season! It’s 42% off now so get this steal of a deal while you can!

Finally, I completed this overall look with my favourite Pandora Rose jewelry- this rose gold bracelet fits perfectly, but be mindful to buy a slightly larger size as the charms takes up space which tightens the band. I especially love the locket feature for this popular band- almost bears a symbol of love with the locket element. And lastly, if you’re representing Pandora Rose, it’s best to sport the collection- the Pandora Rose stud earrings are my most worn pair of earrings as it’s so versatile, it can be worn as a casual outfit with hair down, or really shines through with an updo hairstyle! And the final piece to compete the collection- the Pandora Rose ring is so timeless as it features the signature Pandora logo on the beautiful rose coloured metal!

That’s it for now folks- I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did creating this Raptors inspired outfit! Take care and have a wonderful, enjoyable and safe weekend! xoxo

Fashion- When Life Gives You Lemons: Azure Swimwear

Hey girls!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

As you can tell, I’m clearly ready for summer with my recent posts featuring so much swimwear, but this season’s swimsuits are just too beautiful not to share! J

One day, I was browsing through IG, and stumbled upon this gorgeous lemon print bikini from Azure Swimwear. I had read reviews and even noticed that one of my favorite fashion bloggers, @mumuandmacaroons (check out her feed on both IG and LTK, she has such great style!) wearing it! I decided to purchase it, and my only regret is that I didn’t have it sooner, because I am in LOVE with this bikini! The Jassmine Top (I’m wearing size Medium) features an off the shoulder style and beaded jewelry detail which adds such a fun and unique element! The back also has such a sexy lace up style, that you have to show it off while wearing it!The Exuma Bottom (I’m wearing size Small) piece provides coverage but also allows for a cheeky fit, which I really look for in a bikini (not a fan of the diaper butt look :p).

If you get this swimsuit, do leave a comment below and let me know what you think- I promise you won’t be disappointed! J

Have a great day girls, and chat soon! xoxo

Fashion- Kate Spade Initial Pendant

Happy Monday folks!

I hope your weekend was as enjoyable as mine! My mom is in Toronto for a couple of weeks and I am thrilled for her visit! We roamed around the cities of Milton, Burlington and Toronto this past weekend. On Saturday, we hiked to the Hilton Waterfalls in Milton (I highly recommend visiting this waterfall!) and then headed to my favorite vegan restaurant in Burlington called Lettuce Love Café– get the pun? 😉
On Sunday, my mom and I visited the Kensington Market which was so busy and active because of the Pedestrian Sundays event each Sunday during summer. I absolutely love this market for its fresh vegetables and fruits, unique and handcrafted items and reggae music blasting on the speakers. The vibe is so calming and mellow, that, despite the mass amount of people, you feel a sense of community and love in this area! We ended the Sunday evening with a must-see movie ‘Aladdin’- I must admit, it was my second time watching this movie in cinema and it was just as magical as the first time watching it! I think Disney movies are in a class of their own, with the quality of CGI, musical elements and quirky cinematic effects- don’t you agree?!

Anyway, enough about my fun-filled weekend- I wanted to share with you all this gorgeous Kate Spade necklace that was gifted to me by my bf, Alexei. I LOVE minimalist jewelry and décor, and he knew this would be perfect for me! This rose gold necklace is one of my most worn pieces of jewelry because not only is it versatile and personal, but it can be worn two ways- on one side of the pendant is my first name initial ‘A’ (Lissy is my nickname but my real name is Alicia) and on the other side are the words ‘One In A Million’- although, sometimes I wonder whether he played a joke and gave it to me as a reminder that HE is One In A Million as his initial is also ‘A’! Oh the irony :p
This wear-everyday necklace is a must have, and I’m sharing the direct link below for this exact piece (several initials are available so go ahead and search for your own!).

Hope you love it as much as I do and if you do buy it, please let me know what you think 🙂

Wishing you a wonderful and productive week! xoxo
